More than 30 million people suffer from varicose veins. Symptoms of varicose veins include leg pain or aching, swelling, throbbing, itching, or heaviness. Left untreated, this can progress to a more serious condition called chronic venous insufficiency, or CVI, which can lead to skin discoloration, leg ulcers, and non-healing wounds. To see if you have CVI, schedule an in-office sonogram exam with us.

To treat your varicose veins we use the VNUS Varicose Vein Closure procedure. VNUS Closure uses radiofrequency energy to collapse and seal the vein involved. It is minimally-invasive, takes about an hour to do, only requires local anesthesia, and will have you back to your regular activities in a day or two. And since it’s not cosmetic, your insurance will cover it.
Spider veins are small varicose veins, usually red or blue
in color, seen close to the surface of the skin of the face
and legs. Unlike varicose veins, spider veins cannot be felt. Also, these veins are considered cosmetic and are not covered by insurance. Laser therapy uses heat generated by the laser to break down the small vessels. These vessels then diminish in size over time and may require additional treatments. VeinWave is used to treat facial veins by passing a small current through the vein causing it to instantly collapse. Sclerotherapy is used for larger spider veins. A solution is injected which will irritate the inner lining of the vein causing it to collapse and stick together.
